April 26, 1961 ~ May 24, 2022 (age 61)


Poland - Mark E. Liggett, 61, went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2022, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on April 26, 1961 in Youngstown, OH, a son of Gerald Liggett. He recently resided in Fairmont, West Virginia.

Mark was a 1979 graduate of Jackson Milton High School. He was a draftsman and worked at DuPont Chemical in Parkersburg, WV for a number of years. He enjoyed doing handy work, helping others, and cooking, including his famous chili. Mark was a lover of all music and enjoyed singing and playing the harmonica. He had accumulated an extensive digital music library and became very astute with VirtualDJ software. He was always happy to lend support to others in this regard.

Mark was raised by his father, aunts/uncles, and grandparents.

Mark is survived by his wife, Diana Liggett; 3 daughters, Crystina, Brenda, and Stephanie; grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Madorno and Debbie Liggett-Dixon; nephews, Tyler and Kyle Dixon; aunt, Donna Zullo and many cousins.

In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna and Sherman Liggett; and uncle, Al Zullo.

Mark's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at WVU Medicine (WVU Cancer Institute, J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, and Fairmont Medical Center) and Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion given to him.

In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to WVU Cancer Institute: WVU Foundation, P.O. Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507; or Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685 in memory of Mark Liggett.
