BOARDMAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Holy Family Church for William Paul DeNiro, 79, who died early Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, surrounded by his family.
William was born Jan. 12, 1936, in Youngstown, the son of Frank and Helen (Catoline) DeNiro.
He was a 1954 graduate of East High School and was part owner of Midwest Amusement until his retirement.
William enjoyed spending time with his family.
William is survived by by his children, Mary Margaret (Bob Berns) of Columbus and Rhinelander, Wis., Cynthia (Denny) Kunce of Petersburg, Helena (Brad) Anderson of Columbus, Stacie Shepard of Poland, William (Eileen) DeNiro Jr. of Boardman, and George (Kelli) DeNiro of Columbus; his brother, Louis (Kathy) DeNiro of Boardman; his former wife, Donna J. DeNiro of Poland; 11 grandchildren, Kelsey, Abbey and Natalie Kunce, Robert, Taylor and Julia Anderson, William DeNiro III, Lucie and Jordan Shepard, Jake and Paige DeNiro, and Zack Hierro; and great-granddaughter Haddie Hierro.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Vince, Michael and Frank DeNiro.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Holy Family Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, PO Box 430, Youngstown, OH 44501.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
