Thurl Francis Cain

Thurl Cain, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 14, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 12, 1948, to Idris Lorrain Cain, Thurl was a lifelong resident of Austintown, Ohio. He dedicated himself to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.

After graduating high school, Thurl went on to work for General Motors, where he served as a forklift operator for 38 years, later retiring in 2005.

Thurl was an avid collector of coins and antique toys. He also enjoyed horse racing and meeting with fellow General Motor retirees for a monthly lunch.

Thurl is survived by his beloved wife, Priscilla K. Anderson Cain and their two children-Candy (Doug) Franks and Steven (Melizza) Cain. He is also survived by four grandchildren-Amber (Jake) Napier, Jonathan (Angellica) Franks, Kyle Cain, and Nathan Cain-and a great-grandchild, Hailey Franks, who brought him immense joy.

In reflection of a life well-lived, Thurl's family will honor his memory with private services in the coming days. While we mourn the loss of an extraordinary man, we also celebrate a life marked by deep love, laughter, and lasting memories. Thurl will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
