Canfield -- A memorial service celebrating the life of Thomas Hupko Jr. will be held at a later date. Tom passed away early Monday morning, August 31, 2026, at his home. He was born March 29, 1938, in Ellwood City, PA., the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Susan (Dubinsky) Hupko.

Tom graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and continued his education at the New York Institute of Photography. He was an Army veteran, serving and protecting our freedom for 20 years. Tom worked as a photographer with McKay Machine and later with Youngstown Arc Engraving, taking pictures to advertise and show their products. He retired from Youngstown Arc Engraving in 2003.

Tom was a Catholic in faith. His hobbies include fishing, home repair, and working around the yard. After his retirement Tom enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and sudoku and spending time and going to lunch with his Army friends. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Tom leaves his wife of almost 60 years, the former Julie Salamon, whom he married on September 18, 1966. Together they raised two children, Scott Hupko of Canfield, and Sherry Hupko of Raleigh, N.C. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Theuerl and two brothers, Albert and Ray Hupko.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cornersburg Fresenius Kidney Care center to all of their care and support for Tom and his family during his time with them.
