YOUNGSTOWN - Thelma N. Richards, 97, passed away at her home on October 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 6, 1928, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of William and Margretta Coombs Dolne.
A proud graduate of South High School in 1946, Thelma furthered her education at Youngstown College studying business and bookkeeping before pursuing her career. Throughout her professional career, she served as an office manager and bookkeeper for Daniel A. Terreri and Sons, where she made significant contributions over many years. Her involvement in this role led her to become a valued member of the National Association of Women in Construction, serving for over 20 years as a Director and Officer for the local chapter. Thelma's work and passion for her field exemplified her strong character and determination.
Beyond her professional achievements, Thelma was an active participant in the Delta Chi Epsilon sorority alumni for many years, where she maintained meaningful connections and friendships.
Thelma was known for her warmth and kindness, particularly through her love of baking. She delighted family and friends alike by providing her famous cookies for weddings, graduations, holidays, and countless other special occasions, leaving a sweet legacy that will be fondly remembered.
She is survived by her sons, Brad (Jo Ann) Richards and Jeff (Denise) Richards, both of Austintown; her sister, Wylma Evans of Clarion, PA; her grandchildren, Melissa (Rebecca) Holibaugh, Joshua Richards, Stephen Richards, Cassandra Richards, and Rebecca Richards; as well as many nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.
Family and friends may call Monday, October 27, 2025 from 4 to 5:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 5:30 pm at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 4303 Mahoning Ave. Youngstown, OH 44515.
Thelma will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her loving nature and the profound impact she had on her family and community. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
