Susan Paczak

AUSTINOWN - Susan E. Paczak passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025 at the age of 81.

She was born on December 14, 1943, in Youngstown, a daughter of Garrett Barry and the former Margaret Price.

Susan was a 1961 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and received her nursing degree from the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a proud lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of the USA, serving as an executive at the Lake to River Girl Scout Council.

A devoted member of St. Joseph Church, Susan was a lay leader and distributor. She also contributed as a minister during mid-week services. As a long-standing member and former President of the Mother Seton Catholic Organization, Susan remained committed to supporting her fellow parishioners. Susan was a member of the class of the 2002-2003 Leadership Mahoning Valley.

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Barry.

Susan leaves to mourn her passing but rejoice in her peace her beloved husband, John Paczak, whom she married on August 13, 1966; her daughters, Meg (Jarold) Silver, of Poland and Jennifer (Raymond) Capezzuto, of Austintown; her son, Andrew (Elizabeth) Paczak, of Columbus; sister, Kathleen Ward, of Cleveland; brothers, John (Carolyn) Barry, of Liberty and Matthew (Brenda) Barry, of Austintown; 7 grandchildren, Noah Silver, Bekah Silver, Jacob (Lucia DeChurch) Capezzuto, Joey (Dana) Capezzuto, Chase (Dakota Doles) Paczak, Addison Paczac, and Garrett Paczak.

Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:45am at St. Joseph Church on Saturday, May 24, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory may be made to St. Joseph Church.
