Susan Mazzucco

STRUTHERS - There will be memorial services at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Friends Church in Poland for Susan Estelle Fry Mazzucco, who died Friday at her residence. Burial will be private Tuesday preceding the memorial
service.
Susan Estelle Fry Mazzucco was born Nov. 14, 1949, the daughter of Carl and Jessie Russell Fry.
A 1967 Chaney High School graduate, she received her bachelor¹s degree in education in 1981 from Youngstown State University, where she specialized in early childhood education and reading. She taught for 24 years at C.H. Campbell School in Canfield, devoting her time and care to countless children. She was a dedicated second grade teacher, who also spent her time
directing and choreographing a number of Christmas programs, plays and spring musicals as well as teaching and presenting programs in ethnic folk
dance.
A dancer since age four, Susan began teaching dance and performing
professionally at age 14, touring the eastern United States with the
original Judy Conti Dancers. She performed at the New York Worlds Fair and at age 16 was chosen to be a summer alternate for the Radio City Rockettes. Susan was a beloved and respected dance instructor at the Judy Conti Studio, in Austintown, where she shared the art of dance with children of all ages. Susan was a speech and debate coach at Canfield High School for 6 years, as well as a soccer coach in Canfield, where she helped to establish the Canfield Soccer League. She was also a choreographer of the Chaney Lariettes for several years and most recently served as the director of Remember Idora
in 2003.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Mazzucco, whom she married, Sept.27, 1968; a son, John C. of Denver; a daughter, Carrie K. of Poland; two sisters, Cindy Fry Michael Ferrall of Austintown and Karen Cecil Fry Hunt of Austintown.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
