CANFIELD - Sharon M. Maloney, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026.
She was born on May 24, 1939, in Pound, Wisconsin, and proudly graduated from Pius XI High School.
Sharon dedicated her professional life to the field of education as the principal's secretary for Austintown Schools. Beyond her career, she was an active member of her community, contributing her time and passion as a member of the Sweet Briar Garden Club, a golf league at Meander Golf Course, and a bowling league at Holiday Bowl. She also made cherished memories as a member of the Warren Ski Club, where her love for alpine skiing flourished, from the slopes of Peek'n Peak to adventures in Lake Tahoe, British Columbia, and even the French Alps.
For 34 years, Sharon served as a loyal groupie of the Canfield Community Concert Band, sharing her love of music with friends and family. Her journeys took her across the country and beyond, including memorable RoadScholar trips to horticultural gardens and national parks, as well as joyous visits with friends in Geneva, Ohio.
In 1996, Sharon married the love of her life, Rick, in the beautifl setting of a ski lodge at Sun Valley, Idaho. Their honeymoon adventure took them to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, marking the beginning of a profound partnership filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, James "Rick" Trenary, whom he married March 11, 1996; son, Charles J. (Sharon) Porter of Franklin, WI; step daughters, Heather (Jennifer) Trenary of Montgomery Village, MD and Robin Trenary of North Lima; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Porter of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Donald Heim, Chucky Porter, Caitlyn (Daniel) Nutley, Jeffery Porter, Tiffany Porter, and Tanya (Keith Yanke) Vogler; sister, Joyce (Bob) Molenda of Milwaukee, WI; her two cherished feline companions, Bella and Sparky; and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Dorothy Lentz Maloney; a son, Steven E. Porter; step son, Levi W. Trenary II; a brother, Michael Maloney; and a sister, Joan Diedrich.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ohio Living Hospice, as well as Sharon's personal caregivers, Kimberly and Irene. Their compassion and dedication provided comfort during her final days and will always be remembered.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 5 to 7PM and again on Saturday August 22, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to PBS Western Reserve or the Milwaukee Museum of Art, [mam.org], honoring Sharon's enduring love for culture and the arts.
