LAKE MILTON - Sandra Puskarich, 78, died peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 22, 1946, in Harvey, North Dakota, the daughter of the late John and Elsie Hoffer Erickson.
She graduated from Harvey High School, and was a proud member of the cheerleading squad, demonstrating her spirited nature from an early age. She later attended BJC College.
Sandra was a dedicated homemaker, a role she embraced with passion and grace. She had a vibrant spirit that was reflected in her interests; she loved swimming and spent time working as a lifeguard in her younger years.
She met the love of her life, Joseph Puskarich, upon his return from serving in Vietnam while he was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base. They married on Dec. 6, 1969, and welcomed their daughter Joamie on Dec. 9, 1970. The family moved to Ohio in 1971, eventually settling in Canfield, and welcomed son, Joseph Puskarich III in 1974. After 29 years, they moved to Plainsfield, IL, until the sudden passing of their son-in-law, which brought them to their little slice of paradise in Lake Milton. Sandy made many friends in their condo community and was a staple poolside all summer enjoying apple martinis with her friends.
Sandy thought the sun rose and sat on her two beautiful granddaughters, Mackenzie and Mia and delighted in her daily phone calls from them.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Joe Puskarich; daughter, Joamie (Chris) Mrozek of Struthers; son, Joe Puskarich of Campbell; granddaughters, Mackenzie (Chase) Paterson of Naperville, IL, and Mia Hanlon of Robinson, PA; great-grandson, Calvin Paterson; sister, Dianne Wright; sister-in-law, Daniella (Paul) Milanovich of Aliquippa, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home - Boardman-Canfield Chapel, located at 3701 Starr’s Centre Drive, Canfield, OH 44406.
