Rose Jeswald

She was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Youngstown, the daughter of George and Blanche Bycraft Houser. 

Rose was a 1950 graduate of Chaney High School. She married the love of her life, James E. Jeswald, on May 15, 1954. 

Throughout her years, Rose was a charter member beacon of light at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where her unwavering faith and devotion shone brightly. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer a listening ear to those in need, embodying the true spirit of love and care.

Rose’s love for reading and her enjoyment of playing cards and bingo brought joy and laughter to her life. 

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Jeswald with whom she made her home, Cynthia (Joseph) DelSignore of Canfield, Sharon (James) Lewnes, of Dublin; grandchildren, Mike (Katie) Lewnes of Columbus, James (Gabrielle) Lewnes of Bothell, Washington and Anthony (Laura) DelSignore of Austintown; great-grandchildren, Thalia, Layla and Lucy Lewnes, Liliana and Giovanni DelSignore; and sisters-in-law, Constance Pressey and Angeline Foltz, both of Austintown.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by two brothers, Judge William G. (Josephine) Houser and Robert J. (Lee) Houser; great-grandson, Roberto DelSignore; and two brothers-in-law, Reverend Stephen Pressey and Walter Foltz. 

She is survived by her son, Lawrence (Marilyn) Jeswald of Canfield; and grandchildren, Nicholas and Louis Jeswald. 

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She will be laid to rest in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
