POLAND — Ronald S. Kukura, 78, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025.
Ron was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Youngstown, the son of Lillian Benny Kukura and Stephen P. Kukura. He grew up in Struthers, where he met his wife, Barbara Lengyel Kukura, of 57 years.
They have four surviving children, Bo Kukura, Sherri Bode, Brian Kukura and Tom Kukura. Also cherished are two surviving granddaughters, Lauren Bode and Megan Bode. He also leaves behind a brother-in-law, James Lengyel. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Ann Lengyel; father-in-law, James Lengyel; and son-in-law, Vince Bode. He also cherished Cody, his favorite walking buddy, whom he lost about a year ago.
Ron was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, Class of 1965, and graduated from YSU with a BE in industrial engineering. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Brotherhood at YSU. Ron spent the majority of his career as a manager in the steel industry. He really enjoyed golfing with family and friends, never passing up the opportunity to tee it up for a little skins game. He has had multiple holes-in-one and, in his prime, was a top competitor in several local golf leagues. In his retirement years, Ron never passed up his daily crossword puzzle. He also enjoyed casinos, slot machines, card games with the family (Wild Rummy and Manipulation), and watching sports on TV. He was an avid Cardinal Mooney, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football fan, along with any other competitive football game on a fall Saturday. Everything Ron did was for his family. He loved each and every member with all his heart and more. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Poland.
