Robert "Robbie" M. Kauffman

YOUNGSTOWN - Robert "Robbie" Kauffman, 72, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Robbie was born July 28, 1954, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Robert and Dorothy Dustman Kauffman.

Robbie was loved by his family and so many friends. He was affectionately known as the "Mayor of Youngstown" by his sisters because wherever he went, he knew and talked to everyone. He had the best sense of humor and always had everyone he was with laughing. Robbie was also known as the best dancer around.

He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1972. He worked several jobs over the years, starting at Republic Steel Mills and later going on to work at the Youngstown Water Department, retiring in 2023.

Robbie leaves behind his beloved sisters, Kathy (Paul) Truhan and Carol (Tony) Sugar; his beloved brother, Tommy (Rosemary) Kauffman; his nephews, Craig (Cyndi) Wilson, Brian (Katie) Wilson, and Christopher (Angie) Sugar; his niece, Jamie (Nate) Milstead; his great-nephews, Connor Wilson, Jaxson Sugar, and Jacob and Luke Milstead; and his great-niece, Emma Milstead. He also leaves his beloved cousins and countless friends.

Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Kauffman; his grandmother, Edith "Nanny" Dustman; his grandparents, Edgar and Margaret Kauffman; and his great-nephews, Liam and Oliver Sugar.

At any event, whether for family or friends, it was always more fun if Robbie was there.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors and nurses of St. Elizabeth Hospital for the wonderful care of Robbie during his last two weeks. They all loved him, and in the short time he was there, they already had many stories to share about what a great and funny person he was. He brought the "laugh out loud" to everyone.

Please join Robbie's family to celebrate his "Gone Much Too Soon" life on Sunday, September 27th at 3PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starr's Centre Drive, Canfield, Ohio, where family and friend may pay their respects from 12 to 3PM prior to the service. We want everyone to share with us the wonderful person Robbie was. He will be truly missed.
