Richard Holstein

YOUNGSTOWN-Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church for Richard E. Holstein age 68 of N. Maryland who died from complications from surgery Saturday morning at Omni Manor Care Center after a four month
illness. Richard was born July 20, 1935, in Hamilton, Oh., the son of August and Marie Schulten Holstein. He had worked for General Motors as a production supervisor for over 30 years, retiring from the G.M. Fab plant in 1996. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps., was a member of the John J. Buckley Post # 1292
in Youngstown, the AARP, enjoyed spending time playing cards, and pool with his friends at the Sam Camens Center, and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his life-mate Judy Cartwright, a son Richard R. Holstein of Austintown, a sister, La Verne Chapin of Hamilton, Oh., two brothers, James Dee Holstein of Bradenton, Fla., and Ronald Jinny Holstein of Fairfield, Oh. and three granddaughters Harley, Kylie, and Sienna Holstein. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to either the American Diabetes Association, or the charity of the donors choice in Richard's memory.Friends may view this obituary and send condolences to higgins-reardon.com.
