YOUNGSTOWN

YOUNGSTOWN - Private services were held for Mr. Paul Kulisz, 72, formerly of Austintown, who died February 12th  at a medical hospital in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Paul was born July 14, 1951, in Salem, a son of Anton and Maria (Kutscheanko) Kulisz.

Paul’s parents immigrated to the U.S. from the Ukraine and instilled in their children the “old school” values of hard work, honesty, and fairness. Paul was very appreciative of his upbringing. He credited his good choices, success and happiness in life to his parents’ example and teaching.

Paul’s work career was multi-faceted. He retired as Vice-President of Healthcare Television Systems, Inc. Paul served in the Army Reserves out of Vienna, Ohio.

Paul was incredibly gifted in many areas-- electronics, construction, remodeling, appliance repair, landscaping, animal/vegetable farming, and cooking.  Paul was the “encyclopedia” if you had any questions about anything. And if he worked on anything, you knew it was quality work—whether if it was for his own home, or for yours.

Above all, Paul was a true family man and friend to everyone he came in contact with. He was a devoted, loving and reliable son, husband, father, and brother. He was a truly good friend and neighbor. He was implicitly trustworthy and reliable and was there for all people in his life.

Paul leaves his beloved wife, Sally  (Hegedusich) of Punta Gorda Florida; his brothers Tony (Rita) of Austintown, Peter (Phyllis) of Canfield, and James of Austintown; his brother-in-law James (Jaime) Hegedusich of West Virginia, and his sister-in-law Nancy Nabakowski of Struthers, and his many nephews,  great-nephews, nieces, and great-nieces.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his first beloved wife Mary Anne, and their daughter, Kerry Anne.

The family would like to thank all members of Paul’s medical teams, who with the many years of dedicated care and sharing of their medical skill and knowledge, and friendship with Paul and Sally gave all of us so much more quality time together.

Paul’s family would also like to express their deep appreciation of Paul’s friends and neighbors in Punta Gorda, who were with and there for Paul and Sally this past decade through the good times and the more challenging times. You continue to be an immense source of support and comfort to Paul’s family.

Paul, we love you. Smoochies! Rest in God’s peace.
