AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Monday at 12:15 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, for Ned R. Shippoli, 61, who died unexpectedly on Thursday.
Ned was born Dec. 27, 1954, in Youngstown, the son of Anthony J. and Mary A. (Freisen) Shippoli.
He attended Cardinal Mooney High School and graduated from South High School. Ned had worked for Compco Industries as the director of Health and Safety since 2009. He previously worked for Commercial Metal Forming in hourly and supervision for 35 years.
He was a former member of St. Patrick Church growing up, and attended St. Joseph Church. Ned was an avid bowler, marathon runner and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a great cook and enjoyed old cars, especially Corvettes. Ned also loved to play the lottery and won a spot on "Cash Explosion" in 2014.
Above all, Ned loved his family most, and his two dogs, Sammie and Oreo.
Ned is survived by his wife, the former Marlene Repomonto, whom he married March 6, 1990; two daughters, Ashley Shippoli of Boardman and Elaine (Marty) Moss of New Middletown; a brother, David (Joanna) Shippoli of Strongsville; and his dear friend, Billy Chicase.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Carol Shippoli and Mary Beth Kerr.
