Austintown.....Merril L. Blotzer, a dedicated family man, passed away on October 23, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on August 27, 1938, in Lincoln Place, Pennsylvania, Merril lived a life characterized by hard work, commitment to community, and profound love for his family.
Merril's career was marked by his role as a Regional Manager at United Parcel Service, where he earned a reputation for his leadership and dedication to service. After retiring, Merril found fulfillment in self-employment as a "Jack of all Trades," where he continued to demonstrate his industrious spirit and skill.
An alumnus of Connelly Vocational High School, Merril valued education and the opportunities it presented. His commitment to community service was evident when he proudly held the title of Honorary Mayor of Rogers Flea Market, further reflecting his connection to those around him.
In addition to his professional and civic accomplishments, Merril honorably served in the United States Navy, a testament to his dedication to his country.
Merril is survived by his wife, Charlene; his daughters, Christine Blotzer and Kathleen (Jim) Ruby; his stepson, John (Jasmine) Dunn; and his grandchildren, Ashley Hernandez, Jacob (Katherine) Ruperto, and Jessie Ruperto. He also cherished his step-grandchildren, Dallas, Michael, Sarah, and Rachael, along with his great-grandchildren, Noelle Hernandez and Tyler Ruperto. Merril is also survived by his sisters, Georgine (Bill) Manns and Barb (Bill) Testa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merril and Ester (Lawry) Blotzer, and his sister, Joann Otoltics.
Merril L. Blotzer's legacy will continue to resonate through the lives he touched with his kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit. His family and friends will remember him for his warm heart and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
