Mary Patricia Fickes

Poland - A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date for Mary Patricia Fickes, 97, of Poland who passed away Friday evening, August 7, 2026, at her home.

Mary, better known as Pat, was born February 4, 1929, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Thomas and Jessie (Russo) Dunn. Pat graduated from South High School, class of 1947. She was a Catholic by faith and was a member of Holy Family Church before moving to the Canton area with her husband Chester and their children.

Pat was loved by all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. On August 2, 1958, Pat married the love of her life, Chester Charles Fickes Jr. Together they raised four children as she stayed at home to make a loving home environment for the family.

Chester passed away on November 3, 2013. Pat moved back to the area in the Shepherd of the Valley independent living condos where she made many friends and loved playing cards with them.

Pat leaves two daughters, Mary Fickes of Canton, Patricia Poorman of Youngstown, Robert Fickes of Struthers, and Jim Fickes and his wife Jeanie of Ill., five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by an infant daughter and three brothers, James, Martin, and Jack Dunn.

Service will be announced at a later date. Professional arrangements were entrusted to Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
