Youngstown - Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Margaret L. Nicholson age 83 of Youngstown who passed away Friday evening at the Mahoning Valley Hospital.
Margaret was born June 20, 1921, in Charlotte, NC, the daughter of Walter and Maria Cobia Schmidt. She came to this area as a child. She was an accomplished artist, and had worked as a colorist for Jones Photography Studio. As a free lance artist her artwork was displayed in Cleveland, New York, and at the Chautaugua Institute among other places. Her artwork was purchased by many large corporations for display in their lobbies and corporate offices. Margaret had been a longtime member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
Her husband Harry Nicholson died August 29, 2002.
She is survived by her two sons Alfonzo Nicholson, and Wayne Kathy Nicholson both of Youngstown, a sister Barbara Gephart of Cleveland, a brother Frank Schmidt of Laytonville, MD, three grandchildren Nick Nicholson, Jessica Nathan Haynes, and Andrew Nicholson,, and four great-grandchildren, Alissa Rhodes, R. Jonathon Rhodes, Asher Haynes, and Gwendolyn Nicholson.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Raymond, and Walter Schmidt.
