BOARDMAN - Margaret A. Collins, 80, peacefully passed away at her home on February 5, 2024.
She was born on April 20, 1943, a daughter of Frank and Margaret (Colleran) Ridel.
Following her graduation, Margaret embarked on a career as an academic advisor at Youngstown State University's Williamon School of Business. Her expertise and dedication to assisting students allowed her to positively impact countless lives, offering guidance and support to those seeking higher education.
In 1999, Margaret's entrepreneurial spirit led her to open "Maggies Magic Muffins" alongside her daughter, Kristin. The bakery quickly became a beloved local establishment, renowned for its delectable treats.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Margaret cherished every moment spent with her family, especially holidays filled with traditions. Her unwavering support and nurturing nature served as a foundation of strength and love for her loved ones.
One of Margaret's joys in life was spending time at her lakehouse, tending to her garden, watching sunsets and enjoying time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her by her daughters, Killeen "Kelly" Vogel, Kasimira “Kassy” Vogel and Kristin Sailor; son, Henry "Bernie" Vogel; sister, Kathy Price; brother, John Ridel; grandchildren, Amber and Michael Delgarbino, John and Maggie Sailor, and Alex Vogel; two great-grandchildren, Isla Parish and Luella Delgarbino.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Vogel, her second husband, William Collins, and her brothers Frank and Tom Ridel.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
