Magdalena Czihal

YOUNGSTOWN-Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Magdalena "Lena" Reith Czihal age 96 formerly of the Paisley House, and N. Belle Vista Ave. who passed away early Saturday morning at Austinwoods Care Center. Magdalena was born February 6, 1907, in Croatia, Yugoslavia the daughter of Frank and Mary Wekerli Reith. She had came to the United States on the Queen Elizabeth in 1950. She made her home in Youngstown with her aunt Magdalena Andrisek. In April 18, 1952, she married her
husband Leopold Czihal. Magdalena later moved to Akron where she lived for 21 years, working as a housekeeper until retiring and moving back to Youngstown in 1999. She was a former member of Our Lady of Hungary Church in Youngstown, and St. John's Catholic Church in Akron. She is survived by two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, and also her good friends in Youngstown, and Akron, and caregivers Andy and Martha Antal of Austintown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Jacob Rieth, two sisters, Frances Hefler and Rosie Rieth, and her son George Devus. Friends may call for one hour prior to services Wednesday afternoon at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
