YOUNGSTOWN - Louis DeSimone, passed away September 11, 2025, while celebrating his 57th wedding anniversary in Ireland, at the age of 77.
Born on September 23, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Louis and Italia Scotti DeSimone.
A proud graduate of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Louis went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown College. He spent his professional career as a salesman with Youngstown Sheet and Tube and Sharon Steel, leaving a lasting impression on his colleagues and clients alike. In addition to his sales career, he brought compassion and care to his community by owning and operating Cedar Manor, a personal care home in New Castle, where he touched the lives of many.
Louis was also a passionate golfer and a valued member of the Tippecanoe Country Club. He cherished his Friday afternoon rounds on the greens, and lunch with the guys. His commitment to community extended beyond his career; for the past 40 years, he devoted his time and energy to planning the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Christmas Party, ensuring joy and camaraderie during the holidays for his colleagues and their families. He was also a talented artist and woodworker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Frances DeSimone, whom he married August 31, 1968; his daughters, Dr. Heather (Chris) Krehbiel and Stephanie (Christopher) Easton; his siblings, Salvatore DeSimone of Pittsburgh, Elouise Smerdel of Pittsburgh, and James (Loraine) DeSimone of New Port Richey, FL.; and three grandchildren, Steven Easton, Scott Easton, and Sarah Sasinowska.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Fleurette Anne Pitcock.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Louis's family from 4 to 7 PM Monday October 6th at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starr's Centre Drive.
Prayers will take place at 10:30 AM Tuesday October 7th at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Christine Church, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and legacy.
