LOWELLVILLE — Kathleen A. Fox, 71, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at Ivy Woods Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.
Kathleen was born Sept. 26, 1950, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of Harold and Cecelia Norene Taafe Penwell.
She was a graduate of Mohawk High School and worked as a dog groomer until her retirement.
Alongside her husband, Kathleen spent many years raising and boarding horses. A huge animal lover, she volunteered with the humane society and often took in many stray animals.
Kathleen was a member of 4-H for years when her children were growing up.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Lawrence “Butch” Fox, whom she married Sept. 20, 1969; daughter, Heidi Thompson of Austintown; son, Lawrence (Amanda) Fox of Youngstown; sisters, Sally Romeo of Hillsville and Mary Lyda of Boardman; brother, Harold (Susan) Penwell of Canfield; grandchildren, Markeshia (Aaron) Garrett, Stacia (John) Perdue and George (Sarah) Thompson; and nine great-grandchildren, Terren, Mia, Maya Lynne, Jackson, Braxton, Grayson, Georgie, Gannon and Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, William Penwell.
Per Kathleen’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
Professional services were handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
