YOUNGSTOWN - Joseph Davies, Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2025, at Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio (November 6, 1945), to Joseph and Dolly Davies.
Known as “Bart” to all who knew him, in his youth he moved with his parents to Garrettsville, Oh. to establish a family farm. Later in life, he resided in Mahoning County, where he continued his lifelong journey of positively impacting the lives of those around him. He had a charm, love of life, kindness, and a laugh that drew people to want to be his friend and family.
Bart was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams, a student of history (most notably the Civil War), reading anything he could get his hands on, old westerns, and especially enjoyed traveling.
Bart is survived by many close friends, and he would surely want special mention to Carol Kitt and Barb Morgan who both provided him with a lifetime of kindness and concern, without which he could not have impacted so many others.
Per Bart’s wishes, he will be buried alongside his parents at Harrington Cemetery in Garrettsville, Ohio.
Friends are invited for a memorial service at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, located at 4303 Mahoning Ave, on Tuesday, July 29th at 11:00am. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the memorial service starting at 10:00am at the funeral home.
Arrangements are entrusted to Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
