Janet Ellen Merryman

AUSTINTOWN - Janet Ellen Merryman, passed away at her home on May 29, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on August 10, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Ivan Prine Sr., and the former Clara Luther.

Janet was a 1965 graduate of Springfield Local High School. She was a secretary for the DeBartolo Corporation and later at Superior Printing. Janet found joy in knitting, cooking, and horseback riding. She cherished her time spent at Conneaut on Lake Erie. 

Above all, Janet held her family close to her heart. She is survived by her sisters, Joyce (Raymond) Constance of Austintown and Brenda Gardner of Boardman; her brother, Ivan Prine Jr., of Austintown; stepson Skip (Wendy) Merryman, stepdaughter Michele (William) Bell; grandchildren Kyle and Nikolai Merryman; seven nieces and nephews: Doug (Kelly) Constance, Michelle (Rich) Bindas, Melissa Constance, Baron Prine, Trina Jerome, Jeff (Carrie) Gardner, and Eric (Rebecca) Gardner; and 14 great-nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Gens "Skip" Merryman and her beloved son, Edward A. Fowler.

Calling hours will be held June 20, 2026, from 10:00- 11:00 Am followed by an 11:00 Am Memorial Service at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Road, Austintown, Ohio 44515.
