James D. Lynn

He was born on April 21, 1933, in Warren.

James proudly served in the United States Navy, on the USS Johnnie Hutchins.

Throughout his life, James dedicated himself to a career as a computer operator, working at Loblaw Grocery Store, General Motors and EDS.

James found joy in bowling, cowboy competitive shooting, golfing, watching his grandkids’ activities and relaxing at the beach, with a special fondness for Myrtle Beach.

He married the former Dolores A. Vidis on May 17, 1958; and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2023. He was also preceded in death by his mom, Mary Lynn; and his sister, Ann Lynn.

James is survived by his daughter, Diane (Alan) Pence of Browns Mills, New Jersey; son, Robert (Wendy) Lynn of Austintown; grandchildren, Michael (Jill) Pence, Mindy (Luke) Wherry, Heather Pence, Malissa and Alexa Lynn, and Natalie (Tommy) Schneeman; great-grandchildren, Madison and Cameron Wherry, and Henry and Jocelyn Pence; and his beloved dog, Buddy.

Calling hours for James D. Lynn will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown.

James will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
