James D. Anderson, age 84, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2026 with his family by his side.
Born on July 22, 1941, in Youngstown, James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and kindness.
A proud graduate of Chaney High School, Jim served honorably in the Army Reserves before embarking on a fulfilling career at General Motors Lordstown. After many years of service, Jim retired as a coordinator in the chassis department.
An enthusiastic fan of Ohio State, Jim's passion for his team was rivaled only by his love for family and friends. In his leisure time, Jim enjoyed playing cards and bowling, but his happiest moments were spent on Lake Milton, boating with his brother Rich. He also enjoyed his golden retrievers throughout his life. However, his greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren.
His grandchildren were the love of his life, and he was so excited when he found out he was a great-papa. He was their #1 fan supporting them at baseball games, soccer games, and dance competitions. He was always so proud of them.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth E. Thomas Anderson, whom he married October 11, 1969; three children, Lynn (Bob) Wittmann of Canfield, David Anderson of Boardman, and Brad (Melissa) Anderson of Sharpsville, PA; his five grandchildren, Michael Wittmann, Marissa (Devante) Daugherty, Mark (Alyssa) Wittmann, Wesley Anderson, and Severide Anderson; and a great grandchild Kyren Daugherty; his brother, Tom (Kathy) Anderson of New York; his sister-in-law, Debbie Anderson of Boardman: and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Margaret L. Jenkins Anderson; and his brother, Richard Anderson.
