Helen Marinelli

YOUNGSTOWN - There will be services at 10 a.m. Friday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for Helen M. Marinelli, 85, of South Maryland Avenue, who died late Monday evening at The Assumption Village due to complications from surgery. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was born June 30, 1918 in Youngstown, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Celli Deak, and was a lifelong area resident.
She worked in maintenance for the Youngstown Board of Education and later at Century 21 Paint for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the Our Lady of Hungary Church and its Ladies Confraternity and Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, walking, and especially watching football and ice skating. Her children were the love of her life.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Carol A. William Pollock of Youngstown and Debbie A. Viglio, with whom she made her home; a son, John Barbara Marinelli of Youngstown; three sisters, Irene Deak of Youngstown and Margaret Yakovich and Elizabeth Kirin, both of Canfield; a brother, Joseph Lil Deak of Youngstown; four grandchildren; and many great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Stephen, John and Frank Deak.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
