ALLIANCE - Helen E. Grunder passed away on March 20, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born on October 4, 1964, in Kirtland, Ohio, Helen's spirited journey through life touched the hearts of all who knew her.
A proud graduate of St. Peter's High School in Mansfield, she furthered her education by earning a Bachelor's Degree from Walsh College and a Master's Degree from Malone University, paving the way for a fulfilling career.
Helen dedicated herself to helping others as a massage therapist, a profession she pursued with passion and care. Her professional journey included meaningful contributions to the local government in Columbus and most recently, as a valued member of the team at AlterClinic Animal Care in Canton. Her love for animals, particularly cats, was as palpable as her dedication to her work.
In her personal life, Helen found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening and being outdoors, where she often found solace and inspiration. A talented musician, she cherished playing the guitar, filling her surroundings with melodies that reflected her vibrant spirit.
Helen's greatest love was for her family, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Judy A. Farmer of Canfield; her life partner, Daniel Grunder; Daniel's daughters, whom she treated as her own; Ashleigh (Dom) Sacco of Canton and Rebecca (Shelby) Hulin of Wadsworth; her siblings, Jennifer (Phil) Thorn of Kettering, Mary (Martin) Tursky of Poland, Jim Farmer of Olathe, KS, and Judi Farmer of Poland; her nieces and nephews, Katie (Robby) Byers, Madison Thorn, Emily (Zack) Howard, Benjamin Tursky, and Brandon Frazier; and Daniel's siblings, Kathy (Pat) Brown of Minerva, Jeff Grunder, Jim Grunder, and Scott Grunder all of Carrollton.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, James R. Farmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, St. Charles Church. Prior to the Mass, calling hours will take place at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 4303 Mahoning Avenue, from 8:00 AM to 10:15 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AlterClinic Animal Care, 2302 Fulton Road NW, Canton, Ohio 44709.
