Gregory L. Wess

Austintown Twp. -- Gregory L. Wess, 65, of Austintown passed away early Friday morning, July 3, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown following complications from surgery. Greg was born April 23, 1961, in Youngstown, the son of the late Louis and Mary Dolores (Plummer) Wess and was a lifelong area resident. He was raised in the Catholic faith and was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1979. Greg was proud to work as an Addition Recovery Counselor with On Demand Counseling and had also worked at New Day Recovery and was a member of many organizations within his profession. Greg leaves his daughter Amber (Greg) Baugher of Howland, son Jason (Samantha) Wess of Hubbard as well as 9 grandchildren. Two sisters, Louann (Ron) Tyndall of Surprise AZ, and Joni (Matt) Gordon of Canfield. He also leaves two sisters-in-law, Flo Wess of Youngstown and Marie Calzo of Struthers as well as several nieces and nephews he truly cherished. Besides his parents, Gregory was preceded in death by three brothers, Lyle, Gene, and Joe Wess. Following Greg's wishes, there are no calling hours or services at this time. in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Valley Recovery Partners.
