Gladys Funcheon

November 16, 1919 — December 28, 2004

YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the Christ Church Presbyterian 1933 Canfield Rd. for Gladys V. Funcheon age 85 of Youngstown who died of heart failure suddenly Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center after being stricken at home.
Gladys was born November 16, 1919, in Youngstown the daughter of David and Ruth Thomas Ellis.
She had worked as a finisher for the Mazza Electric Company from 1940 to 1948. She was a charter member of Christ Church Presbyterian, where she taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Knit Wits ladies group.
She is survived by her husband John L. Funcheon whom she married December 22, 1942, a sister Mary Heden of Austintown, two brothers, David Ellis of Youngstown, and Evan Thelma Ellis of Liberty, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gwen Carroll, and Victoria Gray, and three infant sisters. Friends may call from 4 PM to 7 PM Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and for 1/2 hour prior to services at the church.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to the church memorial fund.
