George Breckner

December 10, 1914 — February 15, 2005

Austintown -S ervices will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for George Breckner age 90 of Camelot Arms Care Center formerly of Carnegie Ave. who passed away early Tuesday morning at Camelot Arms.
George was born December 10, 1914 in Youngstown, the son of George and Katarina Linert Breckner.
He had served in the Army during W.W.II, and later graduated from the Cleveland School of Art in 1949. He furthered his education by earning his Bachelors degree in Education in 1951, and his Masters Degree in Education in 1957 both from Kent State University. He began his teaching career by teaching art at North Lima High School, he then taught art at Howland High School from 1951 to 1975 before retiring. He had attended Honterus Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Saxon Club.
He is survived by his sister Katherine Hintzel of Ellwood City, Pa., five nephews and one niece.
His was preceded in death by his wife the former Mary C. Creech whom he married July, 1944, and a brother Alfred Breckner.
Friends may call for one hour prior to services Friday morning at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
