Genevieve "Jennie" Balestrino

POLAND - Jennie Balestrino, age 98, passed away peacefully after a long and fulfilling life. She was born on August 18, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Augustine and Catherine Hurby Hlebovy.

Jennie was known for her warmth, grace, and deep devotion to her family. She found great joy in life's simple pleasures-spending time with loved ones, golfing with friends, and escaping the Ohio winters for the sunshine of Florida, where she welcomed visits from her growing family. Her happiest moments were those spent watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow, sharing in their milestones and accomplishments.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy (Ron) Ferraro; daughter-in-law, Barbara Balestrino; grandchildren Amber Ferraro, Bradley Ferraro, and David (Abbie) Balestrino Jr.; and two great-grandsons.

Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerome Balestrino Jr., in 2006, and her son, David Balestrino Sr., in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings-Mary Bindas, Agnes Antalocy, Francis Olenick, Stella Horvath, Gus Hlebovy, and John Hlebovy.

Jennie's life was a testament to strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends may pay their respects Monday, June 9th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Holy Family Church.
