BERLIN CENTER - Gary E. Elliott, 66, passed away peacefully on November 12 2024, at his residence. 

He was born on March 11, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Eugene Elliott and the former Faye Growall. 

Gary worked as a machine operator for the Mahoning County Engineers. 

Gary was deeply loved by his family and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He took great pride in supporting his granddaughter Zion’s boxing career. His encouragement made a lasting impact not only on her athletic journey but also on the boxing community where he was well loved. 

Gary's spirit was imbued with a love for music. He was a talented musician and shared his gift through his involvement in several local bands. His commitment to music was evident in his volunteer work, where he entertained residents in nursing homes and brought joy to those in prisons through music. Gary was a member of the Upper Room Ministries and New Hope Church. 

In his leisure time, Gary found solace in nature. He loved boating and camping, and admired the beauty of lighthouses and eagles. Ocean City Boardwalk held a special place in his heart, serving as his favorite vacation destination.

Gary is survived by his wife, the former Helen Hammond, whom he married on June 28, 1980; mother, Faye Growall; daughter, Jennifer Kakavros, of North Jackson; son Jason Elliot, of Canfield; sister, Bonnie Jones, of Washington, IN; brother, Mike Elliott, of Washington, IN; three grandchildren, Lacie Dodge, Zion Hensley, and Emma Kakavros and a grandson on the way; 1 great-grandson, Landin Dodge. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
