Frank L. Sedlar, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025.
Born on Aug. 13, 1936, in Burgettstown, Pa., a son of the late Andrew and Anna Kapina Sedlar.
He proudly served his country in the Army. After his military service, Frank began his career with Local 87, where he worked as a pipefitter and welder and eventually taught apprentices and journeymen. Later in his career he spent many gratifying years at Packard Electric, where he worked as a technician on their continuous vulcanizing steam lines as an expert technician. He was a proud member of the Eastern Ohio Conservation Club, where he shot and helped run the trap league for many years. Frank was known for his ability to fix just about anything. Frank embodied the spirit of ingenuity and resourcefulness and many countless friends and family members called and depended upon Frank to fix their problems, which he did with a smile and a giving heart.
He enjoyed doing crossword and sudoku puzzles. He also enjoyed hunting and being out in nature and away from the hustle and bustle of life. His greatest love was for his family. Frank loved his wife, Peg, more than any husband ever could love a woman. Frank loved his children more than they would ever understand when growing up, but once becoming adults, realized that they had had the best father in the world! Frank took immense joy in teaching his grandchildren archery and to drive the tractor and learn how to be grateful for what you have, not what you want.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Margaret A. Klein Sedlar, whom he married May 4, 1963; his children, Lisa Sedlar and John Doyle of Kensington, Maryland, and Rick and Marlee Sedlar of Woodbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, Luke, Patrick, Jake and Andrew; and his sister, Dolores Petrus.
Frank was also preceded in death by his sisters, Josephine Papula and Marian Kozbial; and his brothers, Thomas Sedlar and Andrew Sedlar.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at St. Blaise Parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m.
