Frank Rongone

BOARDMAN - Frank B. Rongone, 96, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025. He was born on March 13, 1929 in Rivisondoli, Italy, the son of the late Giuseppe and Speranza Rongone.

Frank immigrated to Youngstown, Ohio on October 6th 1947. In 1951, he met his wife Bruna at a baptism in Youngstown, OH. They were married for 73 years. He worked at U.S. Steel (McDonald Works) for 30 years and was very active in the Italian-American community. Frank will be remembered for organizing baseball excursions to Cleveland Indians games for all his nephews and nieces, winning dance contests with his wife, and large family/friends gatherings at their home.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Bruna and sisters, Amilia, Anna and Bianca.

He is survived by his sister, Luisa; daughter, Speranza (Jack Colonna); son, Joe (Mary Lou); grandchildren, Frank (Melanie), Vincent (Elizabeth), Dominick, Nicole; and great-grandchild, Serafina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday May 8, 2025 at 10 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Parish, located at 77 E. Lucius Ave, Youngstown, OH 44507. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass, from 9 to 9:45 AM on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Youngstown Hospice of the Valley Hospice House 9803 Sharrot Road Youngstown, OH 44514.
