YOUNGSTOWN - Elsie N. Gremico, passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 90 peacefully at her home.

She was born on January 21, 1936, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a daughter of Jose Tersigni and the former Josefa Saranz.

Elsie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven from her experiences across many countries. Her journey took her from Spain to New Zealand, then to Uruguay and back to Argentina, before finally settling in Youngstown, Ohio, in 2009.

Elsie earned her a Bachelor's Degree in Art History and she studied alongside two of Argentina's most esteemed artists, including the notable Kenneth Kemble. Under her artist name, Paula Pastor, her works resonated deeply with many; her painting "April Blue" earned the best prize in New Zealand. Notably, her pieces were also displayed at The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown.

In addition to her work as a painter and designer, Elsie shared her passion for art with students as an interior design teacher at a university in New Zealand. She found solace in classical compositions, with a particular admiration for the works of Dmitri Shostakovich.

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Ariana (Juan Carlos Eyzaguirre) Lescano; grandchildren, Sebastian and Pablo Sabino.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Hector M. Gremico and her sister, Norma B. Gomez.
