Donald H. Keener Jr.

NORTH JACKSON - Donald H. Keener Jr., 67, passed away on December 31, 2025.

Born on December 14, 1958, in Youngstown.

Donald was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. Donald worked tirelessly as a laborer in the automotive industry for General Motors for 25 years. In his leisure time, Donald found joy in the simple beauty of coin collecting and cherished his family vacations at Myrtle Beach. After retiring, he often found solace in the nostalgia of old westerns and wild west movies, particularly "Gunsmoke." Donald was a very simple man who loved having steak and French fries on Christmas Eve. Donald always wore a button down shirt, blue jean shorts and sandals. He will be greatly missed by all who have met him.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Marie Wilson Keener, whom he married February 14, 1989; his children: Donald Keener III, Kimberley Keener (Chris) and Kaitlynn Wilson; step-children, John Pena (Jessica), Julian Pena (Raini) and Jina M. West (Dustin); step-grandchildren, Jasyn Pena, Xavier West, DJ West, Granddaughter Beatrice Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Sr. and Jean Keener, his niece Hannah Kutsko, his grandson Roger Wilson; and his beloved dog, Bogie and Peanut.

Per the descendants' request there will be no services. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Donald Keener Jr. to First Federated Church, P.O. Box188 North Jackson, Ohio, 44515.
