Daniel Joseph Hunkele

On Thursday, July 16th of 2026, Daniel Hunkele passed away at the age of 72. Daniel was born to his beloved parents, Clyde and Marjorie (Bauer) Hunkele, on March 19th of 1954. After graduating high school, Daniel went to Mahoning County Vo. Tech, for mechanics, which he fell in love with. For many years, Daniel proudly served as a mechanic at M.H. Equipment, where his craftsmanship and attention to detail earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. Daniel was a part of the APA for 35 years. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed woodworking. His woodworking skills were used to create toys and ornaments for children at Akron Children's Hospital. 

Daniel is survived by his cherished siblings: sisters Kathy (Rick) Szmara, Amy (Scott) Douglass, Nancy (Ed) Hamrick, and brothers Mark (Kathy) Hunkele and Carl (Robin) Hunkele, and his stepson Nick Krcelic. Daniel is predeceased by his beloved parents Clyde and Marjorie (Bauer) Hunkele. The family asks for those who knew Daniel to cherish his memories and lean on each other in this time of loss. There are no public services.
