Clarence Loree

April 5, 1917 — June 6, 2004

Youngstown -- Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Clarence L. Loree, age 87, of Hartford Ave., who died suddenly early Sunday morning at his residence. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Clarence was born April 5, 1917, in Youngstown, the son of William and Tillie Sloan Loree, and was a life-long area resident.
Clarence was employed by the Youngstown Board of Education as a teacher at Chaney High School for over 33 years, where he was also Athletic Director and inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. He also taught in the New Waterford and Brookfield school systems. He was a 1935 graduate of South High School, and did his undergraduate
studies at Thiel University and then graduate studies at Purdue University. He enjoyed all sports but especially loved bowling and was in various leagues.
He was a member of Mahoning United Methodist Church and was an Army Veteran of World War II.
His wife, the former Mildred E. Shumaker whom he married July 14, 1947, died May 22, 1992
He leaves one daughter Susan D. Loree of Youngstown, three sons, Bruce E. Loree of Austintown, Scott K Beth Loree, of Boardman, and Craig R. Loree of Akron. He also leaves one brother Samuel Loree of Youngstown, three grandchildren, Brian, Nicholas, and Kelsey.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian, a daughter Barbara, 6 brothers Lewis, Robert ?Bruce?, Dale, Frank ? Billy?, Francell, and Ralph Loree, and 2 sisters Helen and Sarah Loree.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Material contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
