POLAND - Charles T. White passed away Thursday, May 1st 2025 at UPMC hospital surrounded by his family. He courageously and quietly battled a rare cancer for the past eleven months.

Chuck was born on December 2nd, 1958 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of Charles and Mary Lou White.

He graduated from Pittsburgh's Central Catholic High School in 1977 where he was a standout basketball player. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering and subsequently later with an MBA.

Chuck started his career at U.S Steel and then went on to work for Roadway Package System which was later purchased by FedEx. He was employed for 37 years and was a Managing Director of Field Pickup & Delivery Engineering. He retired in June 2024, shortly after learning of his diagnosis.

Chuck was fiercely but quietly competitive and especially enjoyed all sports including local sports and all things Pittsburgh. He was honored in 1993 for coaching numerous youth teams by St. Rosalia's Athletic Association and later recognized by the YMCA basketball Director for coaching 17 straight years.

Chuck coached and mentored many Poland boy's teams in basketball, baseball and soccer and won many championships throughout the years along side his three sons.

He always strived for excellence and spent countless hours at practice, and games etc. - always teaching and sharing his sports knowledge with the players. Chuck always believed in hard work, fairness and had the utmost integrity in everything he accomplished in life.

In May 1993, he married Judy Vogt in York, PA and shortly thereafter was transferred to the Pittsburgh FedEx Ground Corporate Office from Harrisburg, PA. Chuck was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and friend to all.

Besides golfing, he enjoyed traveling especially internationally with friends and especially on annual family vacations.

Chuck will be dearly missed by his loving wife Judy of Poland, OH and sons Brian and Kevin of Columbiana, OH and Eric of Tampa, FL. He leaves two sisters, Colleen (Hughie) Spafford of Ocean View, DE and Chrissy (Jeff) King of Scottsdale, AZ and brother Carey (Kristy) White of Pittsburgh, PA.

He also leaves behind sister-in-law Cindi White of Annapolis, MD and brother-in-law Rick (Mary Anne) Vogt of Hudson, OH and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Craig.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home in Poland on Friday, May 9th from 5-8:00PM and at Prince of Peace Church in Poland on Saturday, May 10th from 9-11:00AM.

The memorial service will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 10th at Prince of Peace Church in Poland.

Chuck loved walking his two Airedale Terrier dogs, Stella and Josie, thus the family respectfully requests any donations be allotted to the following charities - Friends of Fido, MCDP (PO Box 2963, Youngstown, Oh 44511) or Animal Charity of Ohio (8469 Southern Blvd, Bldg 3, Boardman, Ohio 44512).
