AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Monday at 8:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Carl E. "ED" Irwin Sr. age 62 of Austintown who died Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a 5 month illness.
Ed was born September 15, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of Carl E. and Margaret Carney Irwin.
He had worked at the G.M. Lordstown Fabricating Plant as a W.E.M.R. electrician for over 30 years before retiring in 1999. He had attended Struthers High School, he had served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Austintown Meander Aerie # 3298 of the Eagles, U.A.W. Local # 1714, and had been a member of the Demolay Masonic Youth Organization.
He is survived by his wife the former Carol Winger whom he married July 2, 1965, his mother Margaret Zima of Margate, FLA, a daughter Shellie Tracy Huda of Boardman, a son, Carl E. Irwin Jr. of Austintown, a brother Richard Irwin of Boca Raton, FLA.
He was preceded in death by his father Carl E. Irwin, and step father Thomas Zima.
