YOUNGSTOWN - Bernadette Darlene Jones passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by family and friends.
Bernadette was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Youngstown, a daughter of Bernard and Sylvia Yannucci McBride.
Bernadette graduated from The Rayen High School in 1962 and worked as a retail manager at Minnesota Fabrics and Hancock Fabrics.
She served as a Girl Scout leader for numerous years. Bernadette volunteered at Sunrise Assisted Living before getting a job as a concierge and also worked as a marketing and activities coordinator. Additionally, she offered her time at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
She had a passion for the casino and enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, sewing and traveling, particularly to the beach. She enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends, especially her great-grandchildren. She also loved doing crafts and painting. Dogs held a special place in her heart.
Bernadette is survived by her husband, Jack Jones, whom she married April 18, 1964; daughters, Jacki Jones of Boardman and Christine (Brad Anderson) Curry of Youngstown; grandsons, Paul (Tianna Parind) Curry and Zachary (Abby Griffith) Curry; great-grandchildren, Anneya and Alijah Curry; and her brother, Robert Kinney.
In addition to her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Dobrindt.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starrs Centre Drive. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
