POLAND-Services will be Friday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Poland Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church for Barbara G. McPhillips age 70 of Poland who passed away Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center after suffering a stroke 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Barbara was born March 31, 1934, in Youngstown, the daughter of Donald and Margaret Murphy Gibson.
A 1952 graduate of Ursuline High School, she was a member of Holy Family Church, and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society, and Altar Guild. She was also a member of Seton III, and the Youngstown Head Injury Association.
Her husband John J. "Jack" McPhillips whom she married June 9, 1956, died January 25, 1998.
She is survived by three daughters Mary Beth Thomas McKeown of Coshocton, Ohio, Judy Randy Pabst of New Waterford, Ohio, and Jill Jerry Bell of Columbus, Ohio, two sons James at home, and Donald Kathy McPhillips of Cleveland, a brother Donald Gibson of Canfield, five grandchildren, Michael, and Brianna McKeown, and Haleigh, Jack, and Samantha McPhillips.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to the Paula and Anthony Rich Center for the study and treatment of Autism 606 Wick Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44502.
