Barbara M. Kraynak-Strines

YOUNGSTOWN — Barbara M. Kraynak-Strines, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, June 9, 2025, at her home.

Barbara was born June 14, 1936, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Drabitski Noga, and Bertha Fulytar Luebben and stepfather, John Luebben.

She was a lifelong resident of Youngstown and graduated from East High School in 1954. She was employed with 40 years of experience in a career with many various companies and different aspects of office work, including medical transcriptionist. She retired in 2003. 

Barbara loved traveling with her husband, Gene, especially going to their favorite place — the Eagles Club — where they made many great memories. 

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and music. She enjoyed having fun with her granddaughter, which gave her much enjoyment and laughter, and her grandsons with all of their sports endeavors.

Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles F. Kraynak, whom she married May 14, 1960, and who passed away Feb. 21, 1999; her second husband, Eugene T. Strines, whom she married Dec. 6, 2003, and who passed away March 23, 2020; her sister, Patricia (Norbert) Yanek: and her stepdaughter, Theresa (Francis) Zitnik. She is survived by her stepdaughters, Tammy (Scott) Baker and Tina (Robert) Tinkey; grandchildren, Bryce (Samantha Novits), Blake, Bailey, Rachel and Zachary; nieces and nephews, Chris (Mark) Yanek, Carol (John) Scheckelhoff, Beth (Gary) Perez and David (Diane) Yanek; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and her closest friend, Carol Entrikin.

She will be missed by all of her family and friends.Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

The family asks that monetary donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
