POLAND - Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima for Loretta M. Nemenz, 79, who passed away Thursday morning at Sunrise of Poland.
Loretta was born Dec. 5, 1937, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Anna Mae (Reents) Heaver.
Loretta was a 1955 graduate of Springfield Local High School and went on to become co-owner of Nemenz Grocery Stores. Loretta was a longtime member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church where she was active in Alter Guild, fundraising dinners for the church, volunteered at church day camp, and Hanna Circle.
Loretta was active in the community as a team leader for the American Cancer Society, a Girl Scout leader and Red Cross volunteer for blood drives. She held memberships with the Ohio Grocer Association, Ladies Auxiliary OGA, and was past president of Trotter's Chase Condo Association. She enjoyed shopping, reading and cooking.
Loretta's greatest love was for her family and spending time together.
Loretta leaves her four children, Judy (Donald) Gabriele of Poland , Elaine (John) Kawecki of Salem, Joyce (Chris) Herubin of Salem, and Henry (Sheree) Nemenz Jr. of Poland; 10 grandchildren, Cortney Herubin, Alexander Gabriele, Emily Gabriele, Abby Kawecki, Lauren Herubin, Ethan Kawecki, Matthew Gabriele, Christopher Herubin, Henry T. Nemenz and Kaylee Nemenz; sister Kathy Schneider of New Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Casey Nemenz and two brothers, Edwin and Lee Roy Heaver.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel and on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
Loretta's family would like to thank the staff and everyone at Sunrise of Poland for all the care and love they have shown and also Crossroads Hospice for their support and kindness.
