Richard Lepsik

NORTH JACKSON - A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel for Richard Lepsik, 79, who passed away Friday, June 10, at Hospice House.

Richard was born June 18, 1936, in Canfield, the son of the late Steve and Grace (Troutman) Lepsik.

He graduated from Greenford High School in 1954.

"Dick" married the love of his life, Christine (Mercer) Lepsik on Aug. 25, 1956.

Richard spent three years in the U.S. Army, two and half of those years in France. He also spent four years in the U.S. Army Reserves. After his time in the service, he returned to Petersburg, where he raised his family.

He worked various jobs in his life, including Republic Steel, Jones and Laughlin, and Cold Metal Products. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing, along with tinkering in his garage. He also enjoyed raising Jack Russell Terriers.

Dick is survived by his children, Steve (Carol) Lepsik, Valerie Gilchrist, Marie Peterson, and Lisa (Dave) Oyer, all of Columbus; his siblings, Pat (Gene) Wilson of California, Sandra (Harvey) Wilson of Boardman, Jackie (Lou) Gonzalez of Austintown, Donna (Clay) Lawrence of Los Angeles, Sue Kachurek of Austintown, Sally (Charles) Palumbo of Berlin Center, and Terry (John) Hjerpe of North Lima; and his grandchildren, Becky, Stephanie, Max, Camryn, Mary, Dakota, Kari, Brian and Jeff.

Dick was also preceded in death by his wife, "Chris"; and a sister, Stephanie.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to Operation Homefront, 1355 Central Parkway S, Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78232.
