Nancy Hazel

July 21, 1955 — March 21, 2015

CANFIELD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael Church, for Nancy L. Hazel, 59, who died Saturday evening at home.

Nancy was born July 21, 1955, in Youngstown, to H. Kenneth and Marie Irene (McGowan) Hazel.

She was a 1973 graduate of Chaney High School and was the second woman in Youngstown to sell cars at Ben Larney's AMC. After being a sales person, she traveled the country as a regional training coordinator for Granger for 13 years. In addition, she served on the Gateways to Better Living board of directors and was chairperson of the Clients' Needs committee.

Nancy was a member of St. Michael Church, where she served as a lector. She also highly valued the opportunity to serve as lector at an English Mass in 2000, at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. She enjoyed playing sports, especially women's softball, attending the Canfield Fair every year, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She highly anticipated weekend sleep overs with her granddaughter, Alexis, which always included triple movie features, cookie baking, and playing games.

Nancy is survived by two sons, Anthony (April) Davis of Canfield and Ken (Jessica) Davis of Moresville, N.C.; a sister, Diane Wimer of Hubbard; two brothers, Fr. Terry Hazel of Canfield and Tom Hazel of Commerce Township, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Alexis and Ace Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronny Hazel.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Michael Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to St. Michael's Church Family Life Center, 350 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
