NORTH JACKSON - Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, for Irene Elizabeth Kalasky, 81, who died Thursday evening at Briarfield Ashley Nursing Home.
Irene was born May 11, 1933, in Martin, Pa., to George and Anna (Yavorichansky) Ribnisky.
She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her husband and children. Irene enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.
Her husband, Ambrose M. Kalasky, whom she married Nov. 15, 1951, died Jan. 1, 2002.
Irene is survived by two sons, Ambrose M. (Susan) Kalasky of North Jackson and Steven E. (Amy) Kalasky of Jackson Center, Pa.; her sister-in-law, Eleanor Ribinsky; four grandchildren, Ambrose (Beverly) Kalasky, Mary Jo Kalasky, Steven (Lauren) Kalasky and Sean (Jennifer) Kalasky; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Mae, Carter and Bethany Rose.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Klorczyk; and seven brothers, Mike, John, Geo, Paul, Andy, Pete and Steve Ribnisky.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
