Ida Gardner

MCDONALD - A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for Mrs. Ida White Gardner, 90, who died Monday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Ida was born Jan. 19, 1924, in Youngstown, to George and Mildred (Molin) White.

She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Ida worked at Higheys Florist for 17 years and was also a Bookkeeper at Kmart in Texas.

Ida lived in Pasadena, Texas for 45 years, until returning to the Youngstown area. She was a member of the Boardman Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family, whom meant everything to her.

Her husband, Joseph F. Gardner, whom she married May 27, 1943, died Nov. 14, 1977.

Ida is survived by her son, Joseph Jr. (Janis Louise) of Spring Creek, Nev.; a brother, Bob (Eileen) White of Austintown; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a her son, John J. Gardner; sister Betty Davis; and two brothers, George White and infant brother, George.

Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Boardman Baptist Church, 1207 Shields Road, Boardman, OH 44512.
