AKRON - Florence London Rearick died on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at Rockynol Retirement Community in Akron.
Born in Reynoldsville, Pa. on April 17, 1914, Florence was the eldest child of Alice Scholl London and Harry Barton London. She was raised in Punxsutawney, Pa., and relocated to the Youngstown area with her husband, Donald Rearick, in 1936.
A past resident of Struthers, New Middletown, and Shepherd of the Valley, Poland Campus, Florence moved to the Akron area in 2009, to be near her son, Donald Jr.
Active in many organizations, Florence was a member of the New Middletown Garden Club, O.E.S. Miriam Chapter, DAR, Republican Women, New Middletown Senior Citizens, the Lupse Card Club, and the Poland United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings; and her husband, Donald Rearick.
She is survived by her son, Donald Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Margaret; three granddaughters, Lorraine, Gwynne, and Stephanie; and two great-grandchildren, Ariel Smith and Graham Lang Jr.
At her request, a graveside interment service will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, and a memorial service will be scheduled for a later date at the convenience of the family.
